It’s time to vacillate again

The New York Library Classification System

It’s book classification time again. We’re moving the books – admittedly only next door – but they all need to be rearranged. Oh my, oh my. How shall I sort them? After all is said and done, and the Dewey system has been weighed against the Library of Congress system, I return to the Venter system – a simple, hierarchical, commonsense, human-readable, no-code taxonomy. One that exists in my One-Note files, on my hard disk, in my music collection, the family photographs, and in my mind. And that’s how its going to be.
Stick around as I record how I classify, categorize and sort all my media in the coming days.
